Oli Scarff/Getty ImagesNow is the time to plant bulbs for flowers that come up in the spring. Tulips, daffodils, iris, and lilies should all be planted in the fall. While it takes time to see the fruits of your labor with bulbs, your patience will be rewarded. Plan out your garden on a piece of paper in order to make the most efficient use of your time when planting season begins. Place tall flowers and shrubs in the back, medium height in the middle and small plants all around the borders. Consider using a ground cover or ornamental grasses to fill in any bare spots and give your garden a full look. One of the most important things to remember is a perennial plant you only need to plant once, while an annual will need to be replaced the next spring. Happy Gardening!
