A Whataburger in Bastrop, Texas has been temporarily closed after a mouse was captured on video taking a dive into a deep fryer.

The clip, uploaded to Twitter by Brushawn Lewis, shows the critter scurrying about on the burger franchise’s countertop, where food is prepared, as customers can be heard shrieking. After the restaurant’s manager offers to give patrons their money back, a woman steps behind the counter and attempts to catch the mouse, lifting a container it’s hiding behind. The exposed rodent freaks out and tries leaping to safety == but lands in the deep fryer instead.

Since it was posted on Sunday, the video has garnered almost 50,000 views. Whataburger officials have responded by closing the location and issuing a statement that reads, “At Whataburger, cleanliness and food safety are top priorities for us.
