Randy Shropshire/Getty ImagesI'm sure you've heard about the craze over LaCroix sparkling water - it's like the #1 flavored sparkling water brand in the United States. Well, apparently it may not be so sparking afterall.
A customer has filed a lawsuit against LaCroix's parent company alleging that the sparkling water they advertise as "all natural" ISN'T. And that it actually includes an ingredient used in cockroach insecticide as well as other artificial ingredients.
The customer, Lenora Rice, also claims that testing reveals that LaCroix water also contains synthetic ingredients. LaCroix says their water contains natural ingredients and that the allegations are NOT true.
The National Beverage Corp. denies the allegations as well, saying all essences in LaCroix sparkling waters are all 100 percent natural.
What does the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) have to say about it. It in a statement, the FDA considers “natural” on a food label to be truthful and non-misleading when 'nothing artificial or synthetic (including all color additives regardless of source) has been included in, or has been added.'”
Hmmm...sounds like they say drink at your own risk to me. You make the decision, but I hear the water is bomb!!
