JD Inspiration: Don’t Fight The Dip (Audio)

I was on the phone with a friend the other morning and he was talking about how long and drawn out it’s been for him to get a government contract….

I was on the phone with a friend the other morning and he was talking about how long and drawn out it's been for him to get a government contract. He'd been working on it for the last six months or so. Which clearly isn't very long according to those who have secured on already.

Anyway, we ended up talking about the process. Then I started looking at my own life and things I've wanted fast. For example, I always wanted to be out of school - graduated, independent and on my own. But there's a process for that. Can you imagine...trying to make it on my own at 16. There was no way I'd be ready - I had no job, didn't have the skills to even get the kind of job I needed to make the money to support me so I could pay bills.

Or once I did grow up and knew my career choice was radio, I just wanted my own show. Soooo, not ready or equipped. I was 20 years old. My first program director told me I sounded like Minnie Mouse.

Now that I'm on the air with my own show...I realize it was a process - a  journey of almost 30 years. It's a process and God knew. It was in His time.
