The Excelsior Club has always represented  on Charlotte's west side. It opened in 1944, it was the oldest African-American-owned club in the United States and hosted to all of the big names in music, politics, local celebrities, pastors, socially conscious leaders. The Excelsior was also the place that hosted birthday parties, Tuesday night fish fries, and Dirty thirty Thursdays.

Today Beatties Ford road seems like a foreign place without smell of friend chicken and the music blasting through the walls from the historic Excelsior, the future of the Excelsior is in limbo. But people who still hold great memories of the Excelsior and they believe it could be successful once again.

Hopefully one day we all can witness the rebirth of a historical landmark "The Excelsior Club"
