Valentine Flowers That Last For One Year

UPS says it'll ship about 88 million flowers for Valentine's Day. No doubt, flowers are a special gift, but we all know they eventually wilt and die in a few weeks if not sooner. But, how would you like to have a bouquet of roses that last an entire year?!!

It's possible and it's a hot, new trend in the florist business - boxed roses that last a year! A  New York couple actually had the idea after her boyfriend ordered her Valentine's roses, but they soon died. Well, now Seema Bansal and her boyfriend Sunny Chadha are running a multi-million dollar flower company that speicalizes in boxed roses, made with a wax-based solution to preserve the texture, shape and even some of the scent of a rose.

The business is called Venus Et Fleur that they started last year. With the help of reality TV star Khloe Kardashian who posted a photo of a box of their roses, their business had gone through the roof! They are now the exclusive floral vendor for Saks Fifth Avenue and have opened it's second distribution center in Los Angeles. The company says it already delivers more than 80,000 arrangements each year.

The box of roses don't come cheap either. A single red rose will cost you $39. A box of 42 costs up to $400.

Venus Et Fleur has 44 employees and expects to make between $18 million and $20 million in revenue this year.
