Charlotte Will Host The 2019 NBA All-Star Game

We knew it would just be a matter of time! And Charlotte city leaders are breathing a sigh of relief now that the NBA has made it official. The Queen City will host the NBA All-Star Game in 2019.

Yep, it's happening! The NBA confirmed it Wednesday. You may remember we all got our hopes up high when we thought Charlotte would host the All-Star Game this year (2017), but that hope quickly dissolved after the NBA said it was not feeling North Carolina's HB2 bill that basically discriminates against the LGBT community.

Well, things are alot different now that North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper signed a compromise bill that repealed HB2. And the bill bans local governments from passing anti-discrimination ordinances for three years.

The All-Star is a three-day event will be held on a Friday through Sunday, Feb. 15-17, climaxing in Sunday night’s All-Star Game. Most events, including the game and various skills competitions, will be held uptown at the Spectrum Center.
