Ellen Degeneres is always open to interviewing new guests on her talk show.
Except for one. President Donald Trump.
The 59-year-old television host told Today's Matt Lauer during a recent episode that Trump is "against everything I stand for."
Degeneres says she knew him from the reality-tv based show, Celebrity Apprentice, that took off in the early 2000's when she filmed a segment with him.
She says she hasn't spoken to him since he took over the Oval Office.
"We need to look at someone else who looks different than us and believes in something that we don’t believe in and still accept them and still let them have their rights, Ellen said." In her eyes, this mentality is something she and Trump cannot see eye-to-eye.
In the past, Degeneres has featured political figures and past presidents, such as Barack Obama, Bernie Sanders, Hillary Clinton and George W. Bush, according to DailyMail.com
WATCH Ellen and Matt discuss why she would not have the president as a guest on her show.
TODAY's Matt Lauer spoke with Ellen DeGeneres about her new show "First Dates" as their still-raging prank war continued. Twenty years after coming out of the closet as gay, Ellen tells Matt she wishes she'd done it sooner. She also explains why she would not want to have President Trump as a guest on her daytime show.
