Put ya damn hands up because Jay Z will be taking center stage at the upcoming Meadows Music and Arts Festival.
The second annual festival is set to take place from September 15 to 17 at the New York Mets home of Citi Field in Queens, N.Y. Hov is the featured headliner, along with the Red Hot Chili Peppers and the Gorillaz. The performance lineup is extensive, to say the least, featuring names such as Nas, Future, LL Cool J, Run the Jewels, Foster the People, De La Sol and Migos, along with several others.
This will be Jay Z’s latest performance since he took the stage back in November with J. Cole and Big Sean in Cleveland for a “Get Out and Vote” show in support of Hilary Clinton. Expect the upcoming performances to be a little less about politics and a little more about hip-hop, ushering in a welcomed Empire State of Mind.
Let’s hope the second go-round for the festival sails a bit smoother that the first, which featured a Kanye West performance cut short by a cited “family emergency”— that being the kidnapping and robbery of wife Kim Kardashian while in Paris.
