'Wonder Woman' Lacks Proper Promotion As Last Official Trailer Is Released

Wonder Woman hasn't gotten nearly as much press as her DC brothers, but she clearly does deserve it.

WONDER WOMAN - Rise of the Warrior [Official Final Trailer]

Witness the rise of a Warrior. Watch the NEW #WonderWoman trailer now! -- WONDER WOMAN is in theaters June 2, 2017. From Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Entertainment comes the epic action adventure starring Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Connie Nielsen and Robin Wright, directed by Patty Jenkins.

There's been some backlash recently as to the fact that Wonder Woman has not received nearly as much press as her predecessors, including Suicide Squad. The Mary Sue notes that Warner Brothers perpetuated so much press through Jared Leto's crazy antics on set (none of which seemed to make the movie any better), and all of the Omaze Contests that Henry Cavill posted, as well as all the late night appearances that many of the characters like Ben Affleck landed during the promotion of their flicks. They also note that Justice League has already had more promo for their movie when this one comes out 6 months earlier.

Shortly after, we finally see some promotional items, and where are they? On weight loss/weight friendly products like Think Thin.

Wonder Woman is not the first woman to not be marketed properly in recent cinema, considering the lack of Rey dolls from Star Wars, to not being able to find a single Black Widow Marvel toy. This is especially insulting that the companies are not idolizing

This is especially insulting that the companies are not idolizing Wonder Woman when Gal Gadot herself is a warrior in her own right. During reshoots for the film, Gadot was 5 months pregnant and already rocking a prominent baby bump, to the point that they had to apply bright green screen cloth to it so they could edit her stomach out during post-production. Entertainment Weekly quotes director Patty Jenkins saying how much they put Gal through during the reshoots:

“She’s pregnant during part of the movie, in a suit out in a field in the freezing cold in others,” she says. “There are so many things we asked her to do: Now do it on one foot. Now shout while you’re doing it. Now it’s raining in the freezing cold and you’ve lost your voice, go. Everyday it was a hilarious gauntlet and she would do it.”

EW also shares Producer Chuck Roven's notes, saying that "She couldn’t do a huge amount of physical activity but she was being aggressive. She still had to be fierce. That was special. I’ve been doing this for awhile but I’ve never that had that experience before.”

Wonder Woman deserves better than the press she's gotten, but like every battle, there is for women these days, she'll persist and show she's the top dog at the box office on June 2.
