Carrie Fisher's Death Will Not Change The 'Star Wars' Storyline

Carrie Fisher's role in Star Wars: The Last Jedi will not be changed or altered. Thank goodness!

This statement comes from Disney CEO Bob Iger (as quoted by E!):

"We had to deal with tragedy at the end of 2016. Carrie appears throughout VIII. We are not changing VIII to deal with her passing. Her performance remains as it is in VIII. In Rogue One, we had some digital character, [but] we're not doing that with Carrie."

He noted that they don't typically answer to fan speculation, but that was one rumor they couldn't let circulate anymore. Lucasfilm has no intention of recreating Princess / General Leia Organa in a digital aspect, and Iger shares that "She was our princess, our general, and more importantly, our friend. We are still hurting from her loss."

The film is slated for December 15, and we can't wait to see what the plot and story line will be, as we too, continue to mourn Carrie Fisher.
